M S Dhoni And Sakshi Dhoni Wishes For Dussehra and Diwali With A Bike Ad

Cricketer MS Dhoni with his wife Sakshi Dhoni appeared together in a bike ad for their first commercial ad. The ad has a background of the popular Indian festival- Dussehra. In this Ad both celebrate the Dussehra together and also convey their best wishes for Diwali.

The ad is directed by a famous director Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. With this ad Sakshi marks her acting debut. She was much exited over the shoot as she wears designer outfits.

MS Dhoni: Achieved Honorary Rank of “Lieutenant Colonel”

President Pratibha Patil granted MS Dhoni by honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army. A spokesperson of Defense ministry said that: “President Pratibha Patil has granted the honorary rank of Lt Col in the Territorial Army to the captain of Indian cricket team Mahendra Singh Dhoni and the ace shooter Abhinav Bindra”
He further added that “The honour has been bestowed on Dhoni and Bindra for their outstanding contribution in the field of cricket and shooting respectively, and their commitment to the Army on various occasions”
Other cricketers which were granted with honorary rank by armed forces before MS Dhoni are his seniors Sachin Tendulkar and Kapil Dev.

MS Dhoni: Won “ICC Spirit Of The Cricket” Award 2011

MS Dhoni is selected by International Cricket Council for “Spirit of the Cricket Award, 2011” Dhoni is the only player to get ICC annual award 2011. Dhoni get this award for his decision to call back Ian Bell in the test match in Trent Bridge. Despite India facing difficult situation against England Dhoni allow Ian Bell to continue his batting when he gets run out.

MS Dhoni: Doctorate from De Montfort University

MS Dhoni is to get a doctorate for his achievements from De Montfort university on 29 August, 2011. Indian team achieved a huge success under his captaincy like the 2011 cricket world cup, 2007 ICC 20-20 world cup, 2008 commonwealth bank series and many more.
Professor Dominic Shellard, the Vice chancellor of De Montfort University said that: “De Montfort University is honored to join with our key partner, Leicestershire County Cricket Club, in recognizing Mahendra Dhoni’s significant sporting achievements, in the presence of many of our staff and students. This occasion is a distinctive example of DMU’s drive to develop high quality cultural and international partnerships and I am delighted to be able to share it with Leicestershire’s cricket fans.”
Also Dhoni said: “I am amazed and honored to receive this award. I see this award as an honor for not only me as the captain of the Indian cricket team but for something for the whole team to be proud of.”

Mahi Adopts 9 Year Old Agashtya

Captain Cool Mahinder Singh Dhoni had adopted a tiger named Agastya for a period of one year. Agastya is a nine year old male tiger of the Mysore Zoo. Dhoni on June 13 handed over Cheque of Rs. 1Lakh to the former Indian Cricketer Javagal Srinath who is also the brand ambassador of Mysore Zoo. Dhoni is the second Indian cricketer after pace bowler Zaheer Khan to adopt a tiger. Before that Zaheer had adopted a tiger named Madhukeshwar of Mysore zoo in February this year.

Captain cool Mahinder Singh Dhoni has been ranked tenth among the ‘50 Most Marketable Athlete of the World’ by the sports magazine Sports Pro in June 2011 edition. In the same list world’s fastest man Usain Bolt is on top followed by American Basketball player LeBron James and footballer Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal on second and third position. Dhoni has been rated above the world’s number one tennis player Rafael Nadal who has been ranked sixteenth. Beside Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh is the only cricketer who has made to this list and has been ranked 49th.

This might be the co-incidence only that after winning the World Cup this year, Dhoni was in the list of ‘Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people of the world. And now after making Chennai Super Kings the Champions of IPL 4 he is in Sports Pro’s list.

After making India the World Champions, captain cools cooling effect helped Chennai Super Kings to win the IPL 4 and retain the championship. In the final match of IPL 4 Chennai Super Kings took on Royal Challenger Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai. Mahi after winning the toss put opponents to field. Batting first CSK put total of 205 runs on the score board at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. RCB in reply chasing the target of 206 runs were able to make just 147 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. CSK won the match by 58 runs and become the Champions of IPL consecutively for the second time.

Dhoni was awarded the Man of the Match award for such a fabulous innings.

From a local lad belonging to Jharkhand, to the most successful captain of Indian cricket team, Dhoni’s journey is nothing less than a fairy tale. He truly deserve the name “Captain Cool” as he has shown how to perform in pressure situation without panicking. Under his dynamic captaincy, India became the ICC World Twenty20 champions and now in 2011, they became the World Champions by beating Sri Lanka in the finals of ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. MSD has proved that he is the best captain in Test and ODI so far by winning the Border Gavaskar trophy, Defeating Australia by 2-0 and many other victories which eluded India in past. It was under his captaincy only Indian Cricket team occupied the number one position in ICC ranking.

Dhoni has received many awards in such a short cricketing career. He was awarded as ICC ODI Player of the Year in 2008 and 2009. MSD was also chosen as of Wisden’s first-ever Dream Test XI Team captain, ICC World Test captain and ICC ODI teams captain in 2009.

Within a month of India’s World cup 2011 win Dhoni has made to the list of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people of the world for the year 2010. Magazine rated him above the US President Barack Obama.

Such a great achievement in such a short cricketing career really makes him the Real Cricket Super Hero.

MS Dhoni Engaged To Sakshi Rawat

Indian captain MS Dhoni got engaged to a Kolkata girl Sakshi Singh Rawat in a very quiet ceremony in Dehradun on Saturday night. This has been confirmed by the family.

At 6.30 pm, Dhoni and Sakshi exchanged rings at Dehradun in the presence of only relatives from both sides. Ashish Nehra and Harbhajan Singh were also present.

Sakshi is said to be childhood friend of Dhoni and is currently studying hotel management in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The date of marriage is yet to be finalized.
